Pulsar app (iOS and Android) and pulsar.macmowl.top · Version 1.1 · Effective 18 September 2026

In short. Pulsar requires no account and no sign-up. Your progress stays on your device and is never sent anywhere. Three third parties are involved: Google AdMob for advertising, RevenueCat for in-app purchases, and Apple / Google for processing payments. Personalised advertising is enabled only if you consent to it. The app never asks for your email address; this website separately offers an optional waiting list to be told when the game launches.

1. Who publishes the app

Pulsar is published by Alan Massar, an independent developer, acting as data controller under the GDPR.

2. No account, no identity

The app has no sign-up, no login and no profile. We never ask for your name, email, phone number, contacts, photos or precise location. We run no game server: Pulsar works entirely offline.

That covers the app. On the website, an optional form lets you leave your email address to be told when the game launches: see § 12. The game installs and plays without ever using it.

3. What is stored on your device

The following is stored locally, in the app's private storage, and shared with no one:

  • the level you reached and the levels you completed;
  • your Shard balance, owned hints and remaining lives;
  • purchased benefits (ad removal, unlimited lives and their expiry);
  • your settings: language, sound, haptics, notifications;
  • tutorial state and the date of your last daily probe.

This data disappears when you uninstall the app or clear its data from system settings. There is no cloud save: uninstalling permanently erases your progress.

4. Third-party services

Google AdMob — advertising

Pulsar shows interstitial ads and rewarded ads (voluntary, to earn a life or a hint). They are served by Google AdMob, which may process: the device advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, AAID on Android), IP address, usage and diagnostic data, and coarse location derived from the IP address. This is used to serve, frequency-cap and measure ads, and to detect fraud.

See Google's privacy policy and the Google Ads data processing terms.

RevenueCat — in-app purchases

Purchases are handled by RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous identifier generated by the app (not linked to your identity), your purchase history within Pulsar, the store receipt, and technical information about the device and app version. This is what validates a purchase and restores the "No ads" option.

See RevenueCat's privacy policy.

Apple App Store and Google Play — payment

Payments are processed by Apple or Google depending on the store. We never see or receive your payment details. Those platforms handle your data under their own policies.

Local notifications

If you enable them, the app schedules a local notification telling you your lives are full. It is produced by your device: no notification server, no token sent, no data collected.

This table covers the app, and matches the privacy labels published on the App Store and Google Play. We do not collect: contacts, name, health data, user-generated content, browsing history, financial data, precise location. The app never collects an email address — the only address we hold is the one you may leave yourself on this website (§ 12), which is not part of the app.

On iOS, the app shows Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt before any personalised advertising. If you decline, advertisers cannot access the advertising identifier and ads become non-personalised.

In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, a Google consent form (UMP, TCF-certified) appears on first launch. You can accept or refuse personalised advertising and change that choice at any time from Settings → Ad privacy in the app.

On iOS you can also revoke tracking in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. On Android you can reset or delete the advertising ID in Settings → Google → Ads.

Rewarded ads remain available whatever you choose — they are always voluntary, never forced.

7. Legal bases (GDPR)

  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): personalised advertising and ad tracking; signing up to the website waiting list.
  • Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)): processing in-app purchases and restoring the ad-free option.
  • Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): non-personalised advertising, aggregate measurement, fraud prevention and technical stability.

8. International transfers

Google and RevenueCat are based in the United States and may process data there. Such transfers rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and, where applicable, on the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework to which these providers adhere.

9. Retention

We retain no game data: the app has no server. Local data stays on your device until uninstall. Data processed by Google and RevenueCat is retained per their own schedules, described in their policies. The only personal data we hold ourselves is the address left on the website waiting list, for the period stated in § 12.

10. Your rights

You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time.

  • Erase local data: uninstall the app, or clear its data from system settings.
  • Withdraw advertising consent: Settings → Ad privacy in the app.
  • Leave the waiting list: email hello@macmowl.top from the address you signed up with — it is erased, no questions asked.
  • Exercise a right with us: email hello@macmowl.top. Outside the waiting list we hold nothing that identifies you: include your advertising identifier if the request concerns advertising — without it we cannot connect a request to any data.
  • Complaint: you may lodge a complaint with the French CNIL (cnil.fr) or the supervisory authority of your country of residence.

If you are a California resident: we do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA, and we do not offer financial incentives for personal information.

11. Children

Pulsar is rated 4+ but is not directed at children and is not published in the App Store Kids category. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 (or the minimum age applicable in your country). If you believe a child provided data, contact us and we will act with our providers.

12. The pulsar.macmowl.top website

Waiting list

Until the game is out, pulsar.macmowl.top offers a form to be told about the launch. It is entirely optional and concerns the website only: the app installs and plays without ever leaving an address.

  • What is stored: your email address, the site language at the time you signed up, and the date you did. Nothing else — no name, no tracker, no cookie.
  • Why: to send you one single email, the day Pulsar is available on the App Store and Google Play. No other mailing, no newsletter.
  • Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), given by submitting the form.
  • Who can see it: nobody but us. The list is hosted on our own server, handed to no emailing provider, never sold and never shared.
  • How long: until the launch email goes out, then the list is deleted within three months.
  • Unsubscribing: email hello@macmowl.top and your address is erased, no questions asked, no delay.

Your IP address is not stored in the list: it is held in memory only, long enough to rate-limit automated submissions. The web server's technical logs may keep it briefly for security purposes, unconnected to the list.

Audience measurement

The website counts its visits with Umami, which we host ourselves on our own server. No data goes to a third party: no Google Analytics, no ad network, no social network. The website sets no cookie and cannot follow you from one site to another.

Measured, in aggregate: the page viewed, the page you came from, the country, the language, the device type and the browser. Your IP address is used only to derive the country, then to tell apart visits within the same day as a non-reversible fingerprint — it is never stored. These statistics cannot be traced back to a person.

An event is also counted when a waiting-list sign-up succeeds: the fact that it happened and the site language, never the address entered.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in measuring the site's audience anonymously (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You may object by writing to us, or by blocking the script from your browser or an extension — the site works exactly the same.

13. Changes

This policy may change, notably if a third-party service changes. The effective date is shown at the top of this page; material changes will be flagged in the app's release notes.

14. Contact

Questions about this document or your data: hello@macmowl.top. We reply within 5 business days.
